A big thank you is due for his Grandma Emily and Grandpa! They bought us this carseat and we are so grateful. It will last us a long long time!

Big Boy!
Yesterday I took out Broc's infant carseat and installed our new Graco Forever carseat. It's an all in one with rear facing all the way through a booster. I installed it and we gave it a test run last night. I put Broc in it and took a picture before I could adjust it to his height so don't judge the first picture below. I put him in it to adjust the height before we left and he was ecstatic!! He was so proud to be in his new rear facing seat! He can see into his mirror better and he can see out the window a little better. He was all smiles!

6 months!!!
Stats:
Weight: 18 lbs, 1 oz
Height: 28 inches
Milestones:
-July 11th he started getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. He's going to crawl soon!
-He started blowing raspberries with his tongue. Sometimes if you do it to him, he will do it back.
-He loves to "plank" and do downward dog type positions. It's pretty hilarious and cute
-He is SO full of such a fun personality. He loves drives, walks, standing on the porch in the sunshine, and playing inside with mommy and daddy.
This month little bear's personality came out even more. He's so mischievious and precious. He laughs often and makes us smile. He's ticklish under his armpits and on/ around his tummy. His little thighs are also ticklish. He cracks up when you pinch them.
He loves animals and dinosaurs and playing with mommy's wallet. He loves to grocery shop and is very interested in what's being put in the cart. He will often hold out a hand when you take something off the shelf to put in the cart because he wants to hold/ investigate it.
He loves Grandma Emily, doggies, his flower potato masher, soft blankets, pillows, carrots, bananas, kisses, and the tv show "Oobi". We don't watch it often, but if mama has to go to the bathroom and he's acting up, I put it on for him until I'm done.
He doesn't like loud sounds, and is terrified of those hand dryers in public bathrooms, as well as toilets.
So far he's tried prunes, rice cereal (which is something we will stop and continue when he's older), avocado, carrots, corn, bananas, red potatoes, brown potatoes, and green beans. This week we're trying butternut squash! The following week will be apples.
He recognizes his little baby spoons and knows that that means it's time to eat something. He gets very excited and happy about it and even smacks his lips in anticipation!

While in his bumbo one day, he figured out how to pull the laundry basket close enough to pull all the clean folded laundry out. Silly naughty baby! |

Taking a break from being naughty to play with his little quiet book. He loves that thing! Thanks great gramma! |

5 months!
June 2, 2016
Broc sat in a high chair for the first time. He did really well and didn't need help staying upright. He also developed a new trick where he rolls over in his bouncer and crawls out of it backwards. I'm thinking about moving his playpen into the living room so I can keep a better eye on him while he plays because he also likes to roll around the floor and he's hit his noggin a couple times on our hardwood. Not super hard, but enough to give mommy a heart attack and make a squeak sound as he does it. He also wears 12 month old size socks. Seriously child?

This past month has been so interesting! It seems like nothing really happened in terms of milestones and then the last 2 weeks BAM! He's eating pureed food, and can sit up by himself if you hold his little legs down. He loves squash, corn, red potatoes, carrots, prunes, guacamole, and green beans. He is not a huge fan of rice cereal. He's eating about half the time and has bottles about half the time. It depends on the day, but most of his meals are food during the day and at night he still only drinks bottles. It will be this way for a little while so we can let his body adapt to new tastes and nutritional compositions. He already holds the spoon once in a while, and sometimes if you're not feeding him fast enough he will grab the spoon and plunge it toward his face. He almost always misses though :)
Fun things from this month
Broc's Auntie Em graduated from High School this past weekend! It was so wonderful to celebrate her accomplishment. We are so happy for her. Lots of family came into town and Broc was able to meet a lot of new people. He's in this fun stage where he loves people. He loves to smile at anyone and everyone. He'll even laugh for some people. Our bishop and my sister Rachael's fiance Atticus are two of those people who he will always laugh and smile for every time he sees them. He was so good for those 3 hours too! My Uncle Chris kept saying "you're so lucky. He's such a good baby." And it's true! He's amazing. Here's some pictures from our fun weekend.
He was so good in the stadium! We were partially covered, but it was raining and got to us a little bit. My sister's fiance was gracious enough to keep us covered with his umbrella. Isn't my chubby little guy so cute??
I think his Grandma Emily is holding him. But he looks so much like my dad in this picture. The faces he makes crack me up because he really does look so much like my dad sometimes.
Here he is snuggling with Grandma. One of his favorite places to be and one of his all time favorite past times.
Broc and his Gigi. So cute. He loves her so much.
Broc met my Aunt Lynde this weekend too. A very special person in my life and they really bonded. It made me so happy. Lynde could get him laughing like no one else. :)
For memorial day, daddy had the day off. So we went to Oxbow Park here in Gresham. We sat in the sand by the Sandy River. Daddy flew a kite and Mommy and Daddy blew bubbles. Broc adored it all. He laughed at the bubbles and watched the kite in awe. Mommy got a little sunburnt and heat exhaustion, but it was still so much fun to go out and do something like that together as a family. Hopefully we get the chance to do fun things like that more often.
Mommy and Broc went to one of Uncle Ben's soccer games too. It was rainy, but Grandma and Grandpa were so nice and held an umbrella for us through pretty much all of it. Broc was in his little carrier the whole time. He was very happy to see Uncle Ben, and kept his eyes on him pretty much the whole time.
All three of us also went to Auntie Em's final choir concert. It was so fun. Broc was so so good, and we found out that he loves Nirvana. Who knew??
There were also lots of fun little drives together around town, and visits to Grandma and Grandpa's house. We were able to make it to church every Sunday but one this month. Broc is usually pretty good at church. But there's lots of babies, and when I don't let him play he gets fussy.
Next month he goes to the doctor, so I will post official stats then. I'll try to get his current stats sometime this week so we can do more comparing. But for now, we will end with this...

4 months of JOY :)
Can you believe this sweet little guy is four months old? It seems like he's done a lot of growing and changing this month. He makes everyday an adventure, always fun. I love him so much.
Milestones
-He learned how to pull on his giraffe toy so that it vibrates and rattles. He does it over and over and smiles.
-May 1st - He now knows how to intentionally pick things up and intentionally give things to me. He's still perfecting this skill, but he has done it quite a few times.
-His laugh seems to be evolving into this hysterical and contagious laugh. It's absolutely adorable.
He is no longer too interested in rolling over, his current goal is to crawl. He's been trying to figure it out the past few weeks. His pediatrician said "don't be surprised if he's crawling by the end of May." So we have money set aside for a couple of baby gates, just in case! :)
He loves when I read to him. I checked out some picture books in English and Russian. He loves Curious George in Russian, and loves the book "Bear sees colors" by Karma Wilson. He always puts his hands on the bear in the pictures. Next time we go to the library I'm going to check out more of the Bear books by Karma Wilson. I actually had the fortune of meeting her when I was in 6th grade. She's so cool. :)
He's becoming very good at playing by himself for a while. This makes things a lot easier on me. I am able to get a lot of homework done and sometimes I can even get ahead. I also get quite a bit of housework done.
He's so well behaved and happy. At the moment he's in his little swing playing with his hands. He's fascinated by the fact that he can fold them together. It's so sweet. I love this little guy.
Stats
weight:15 lbs
height: 25.5 inches
Not much change from last month in that regard but I think his little face has changed a lot and he's growing much more hair.
Here is his official 4 month picture:
Here's his month by month comparison
I think you can click on it to see a bigger version of it. I was going to make a slideshow of all the pictures, but my laptop's video card is crap. So that will have to wait until I get a new video card.
Here are some fun pictures from our adventures this month:

I know his hand is blurry in this picture, but here's another one taken during his little monthly pictures. I love his little face. |

He loves playing in his bumbo chair. I think he's going to be sitting up on his own next month! |

Another one still in color unedited from our 4 month shoot |

This silly boy loves to play with wet wipes. It keeps him occupied during his diaper changes so there's no... ahem... grabbing or pulling. |
![]() |
His first library visit! He loved it. He loves when we read him stories. Some of his favorites are Bear Sees Colors by Karma Wilson, Little Polar Bear by Hans de Beer, and Curious George. April 29th |

He started sucking his thumb this month and I adore it. It melts my heart every time. He doesn't like puppy as much anymore, and prefers his thumb. This is when he fell asleep on his playmat. |

Look at my abs, oh and watch out... here comes the smolder. |

On the first sunday I took him to church by myself. I hadn't done much baby laundry so yes, he was wearing fleece pants, a tie, and a nice shirt. But he looked dang cute. |

Another shot from after his four month pictures. I was editing and caught him playing with his teddy bear and smiling. |

Mommy and baby going to church together. I melt with that little smirk smile. |

Selfie with mommy! I adore this picture of us. |

One of the cutest ones in the four months shoot. I was having a hard time deciding between this one and the one I chose. He's the cutest. |

He now sleeps and sometimes plays on his side. Here he is being goofy and telling mommy a story. |

and again |

Like I said, he loves being on his side. It's really cute. |

Smiles :) |

I wish this one wasn't so blurry. He's precious. |

My little angel sleeping on his belly for the third night in a row. |

This picture cracks me up. He was smiling and being so cute while on the phone with daddy. I took a picture while Corry said hi to him and this was the result. He loves his daddy. |

This month he found his feet and plays with them often. This is on the first day he learned he could grab his feet. He still does it all the time. April 21st. |
